The basics about bald eagles
The bald eagle gets its name because of its white head, which makes it seem bald from a distance. These unique and carnivorous birds have a wingspan over 7 feet long and only weigh about 6.5 to 14 pounds. They live in forests near bodies of water and their diet mostly consists of fish. However, they are also known to eat smaller birds and smaller animals such as rabbits. The bald eagle is a monogamous species and will only mate again if they are widowed.
